Water transmission valve chambers, high-lift pumping station discharge headers, treatment plant manifold isolation, and river intake pump houses in Baghdad, Basra, Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Wasit.
High-capacity municipal water pumping stations, transmission pipeline valve vaults, and intake manifold installations experience severe mechanical stress: axial thermal expansion/contraction cycles from day-to-night temperature swings (up to 30°C delta in desert regions), pump vibration transmission, and the logistical challenge of installing or removing heavy flanged valves. Indus Fabricated Steel Bellows and Dismantling Expansion Joints provide the definitive mechanical solution.
Our telescopic dismantling joints utilize a three-flange design comprising a flanged spigot, an intermediate flanged sleeve, and a loose companion flange. High-tensile steel tie rods span across the entire assembly. During maintenance, tightening the tie rods compresses the telescopic sleeve by up to 50mm to 100mm, creating an immediate axial clearance that allows heavy butterfly valves, check valves, or flow meters to be lifted out vertically without stressing adjacent rigid pipeline walls.
For pipelines requiring continuous axial, lateral, or angular thermal movement absorption, our metallic expansion bellows feature multi-ply deep-convolution AISI 316L or 316Ti stainless steel flexible cores protected by external carbon steel shroud sleeves and limit rods. Fabricated from certified pressure-vessel grade carbon steel (ASTM A105 / A516 Gr. 70) and coated with 300 microns of fusion-bonded epoxy, these units operate reliably up to 40 Bar. Staged at our Erbil and Basra engineering yards.
Rigid flanged pipes allow zero axial movement. A dismantling joint provides up to 50mm–100mm of telescopic collapse space by loosening its tie rods, allowing workers to easily slide out large valves for maintenance without dismantling long pipe sections.
Yes. Our dismantling joints are fully restrained. The full-span Grade 8.8 tie rods are engineered to transfer 100% of the internal hydrostatic end-thrust safely across the joint, preventing pipeline pull-out.
Yes. When configured with multi-ply stainless steel bellows or elastomeric spherical expansion joints, they isolate pump motor vibration and prevent acoustic resonance from traveling into transmission pipelines.
