Indus Industrial Group supplies premium HDPE Smooth Geomembrane Reservoir & Canal Liners manufactured from virgin high-density polyethylene resin in thicknesses of 1.0mm (40 mil), 1.5mm (60 mil), and 2.0mm (80 mil) in wide seamless roll widths of 7.0 to 8.0 meters. Certified in strict compliance with the international GRI-GM13 standard, these impermeable waterproofing membranes provide zero-seepage containment barriers for municipal drinking water storage reservoirs, raw river water holding basins, agricultural irrigation canals, and industrial evaporation ponds across Iraq.

Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR) canal relining, municipal potable water storage reservoirs, agricultural evaporation lagoons, aquaculture fish ponds, and wastewater retention basins in Wasit, Dhi Qar, Basra, Muthanna, and Nineveh.
Water scarcity and high evaporation rates across the Tigris and Euphrates river basins necessitate impermeable lining of irrigation canals and earthen raw water storage reservoirs to prevent massive seepage losses into porous, sandy soils. Indus HDPE Smooth Geomembrane Liners are extruded using advanced blown-film technology from specially formulated virgin polyethylene resin containing 97.5% polymer and 2.5% carbon black, thermal antioxidants, and hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS).
Meeting and exceeding GRI-GM13 (Geosynthetic Research Institute) specifications, our geomembranes exhibit extraordinary tensile strength (break strength > 27 kN/m for 1.5mm), puncture resistance, and environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR > 500 hours). The material is completely inert to aggressive groundwater, dissolved sulfates, chlorides, and biological organisms, ensuring an expected service life exceeding 50 years under exposed desert conditions.
Supplied in extra-wide 7.0-meter to 8.0-meter master rolls, our geomembranes dramatically reduce the number of field-welded seams by up to 30%, speeding up project commissioning and minimizing leak potential. Staged in large quantities at our Basra, Baghdad, and Erbil yards with certified material test reports (MTR) for ministerial submission.
Our geomembranes are formulated with 2.5% furnace carbon black and high-grade thermal antioxidants strictly meeting GRI-GM13 high-pressure OIT (Oxidative Induction Time) test standards, guaranteeing over 50 years of resistance to photolytic UV degradation even at ground surface temperatures exceeding +70°C.
For agricultural irrigation canals and raw water retention ponds, 1.0mm to 1.5mm thickness is standard. For solid waste landfill base barriers, hazardous chemical evaporation lagoons, and deep reservoirs, 2.0mm to 2.5mm thickness is mandated.
Rolls are overlapped by 100mm to 150mm and welded using automated dual-track hot wedge welding machines. The dual seam creates a central air channel that is pressurized with air on-site to 2 Bar to non-destructively verify 100% watertightness.
